Burniston to address what’s ahead for the Community Reinvestment Act under a new Administration

Wolters Kluwer today announced that Timothy R. Burniston, executive vice president of U.S. Advisory Services and Regulatory Relations, will join a panel of senior industry executives to discuss what’s ahead for the Community Reinvestment Act, as well as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reform efforts under a new Administration.

The hour-long panel presentation, “Dawn of a New Day: What’s on the Horizon for CRA,” is on Tuesday, April 4 at 4:10 p.m. (CDT) as part of the CBA Live 2017 conference, April 3-5 in Dallas. Presenting along with Burniston are PNC Bank’s Amy Howcroft, Buzz Roberts of the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders, and Jesse Van Tol of the National Community Reinvestment Coalition.

“With a new Administration comes the potential for changes to the CRA framework,” said Burniston. “As the CRA enters its 40th year, our intent with this presentation is to provide insights into what might be on the horizon for this law, as well as how to prepare for any changes in regulatory expectations.”

Burniston joined Wolters Kluwer’s financial services business in 2011 to lead its Advisory Consulting Services practice, which helps compliance and risk management executives more effectively navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Previously, he was a senior executive in the federal government who designed and led compliance, fair lending, and Community Reinvestment Act examination programs for the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the former Office of Thrift Supervision.
