ICBA and Wolters Kluwer Financial Services Help Community Bankers Embrace Growing FHA Opportunities

MINNEAPOLIS – Jan. 12, 2009 –The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and Wolters Kluwer Financial Services announced today that they will co-sponsor a Webinar for community bankers across the country to detail new business opportunities through the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loan programs. The announcement comes one month after ICBA and Wolters Kluwer joined forces to offer ICBA members access to the company’s complete suite of mortgage lending solutions.

“FHA lending is the fastest growing segment in today’s mortgage lending marketplace,” said Jason Marx, vice president and general manager, Mortgage, Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. “The increased demand for FHA loans presents community banks with a tremendous business opportunity to support their customer base, perhaps one of the biggest they’ve encountered in years. But to take advantage of that opportunity, they’ll need the knowledge, skills and tools available to do so. This Webinar will help them get started.”

Community bankers can log onto the Internet on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. ET to participate in the Fundamentals of FHA Lending, a 90 minute Webinar that features the latest information on FHA loan origination, processing, borrower and property eligibility standards, underwriting and loan servicing of this government-guaranteed lending option. The cost of Webinar is $199 per connection site.

“This Webinar presents ICBA members with a unique opportunity to learn more about how FHA loans can be leveraged to serve both new and existing customers,” said Dan Clancy, ICBA senior vice president of services.  “In a challenging economic environment, the suite of FHA loan products is yet another tool that can be used by community bankers to help them continue to perform their vital function in serving their customers and in helping to restore economic vitality to cities and towns throughout America.”
